Last November 20-22, 2024, SHSQC brought back its most awaited event: the annual Intramurals! With this year's theme focusing on the folklore of Filipino Goddesses, students from Grades 6-10 were able to represent the true spirit and passion of Idiyanale, Maguayan, and Sinagtala! The vibrant colors of yellow, blue, and purple filled the campus, creating an exciting atmosphere that set the scene for three unforgettable days.
Just like a roaring tsunami, the cheers and yells of each team were heard throughout the school.The flag-raising ceremony marked the beginning of the Intramurals that would be remembered for its camaraderie and collaboration as well as the friendships that would grow stronger with each passing hour.
Support was seen throughout the events, no matter how minor or major they may have been. From educational games and ball games to the most awaited cheering and cheer-dance competition, what truly shone the brightest was how lively the students were in showing their support for their classmates, teammates or not.
On the final day, the much-anticipated awarding ceremony was held in the afternoon. The students gathered excitedly on the floor as the names of each team were announced for the following events: Flag Raising, Educational Games, Tug of War, Track and Field, Obstacle Course, Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Softball, Swimming, and, finally, Cheering and Cheerdance.
As the cheers grew louder and louder, everyone was on edge, eagerly awaiting the announcement of the overall highest-ranking team for this year’s Intramurals. In the end, Maguayan was named 2nd Runner-Up, Sinagtala secured 1st Runner-Up, and, finally, the title of Champion went to Idiyanale!
Looking back on this momentous occasion, you can truly say that the fiery spirit of SHSians is unlike any other. Laughs were shared and tears were shed, yet at the end of each day, what mattered most were the experiences and memories we made along the way.
