Festança 2025: Journeying as Pilgrims of Hope

This year’s lineup of performances and events truly captured the passion and determination of the SHSQC Family to build such a memorable event for not only the students and staff but also the guests who came to support this festive occasion. The memories created in Festança: SHSQC Feast of Hope will surely leave a mark on every SHSian as we continue to strive for peace and unity in our world.

he School of the Holy Spirit of Quezon City kicked off the highly anticipated Festança: SHSQC Feast of Hope on February 7-8, 2025! This year’s spectacular fair, celebrating a jubilant milestone, is calling on everyone to become “pilgrims of hope” as they unite to tackle the world's biggest challenges in a loud display of community spirit and inspiration.
The first day of the celebration started off with a mass in honor of the first Friday of the month, followed by opening remarks. This was then proceeded by an exciting performance from selected students from each section, all wearing masks to signify the fair’s main theme as a festival of hope. Finally, the school principal, Ms. Flora Carandang, officially announced the beginning of Festança 2025, allowing everyone to let their hearts and minds roam free on the campus as they venture into the exciting events, food booths, and rides offered by the school. Before the actual day of the event, the fun run also officially returned to the SHSQC Fair a day early as volunteers ran and ventured together outside the school campus with unity and spirit.


As the fun-filled activities started, The Voice SHSQC Edition for Grades 1-6 began at the San Lorenzo Ruiz Hall at 10:00 am, giving the school's younger pupils a chance to make their voices heard and reveal their harmonious talents. At the same time, the Amazing Race kicked off for grades 5-12, allowing teams to overcome barriers together and journey through
the school grounds. Additionally, the first day of Meliora: Open Mic 2025 commenced at the school podium, welcoming all students, teachers, parents, and guests to showcase all their talents on stage, along with the first and second show of Galaw Pinoy’s Indak ng Lahi: Sining at Tradisyon, presented at the AVR.
The day also started with the opening of food and non-food booths found on the right side of the podium, where they can grab a sweet or savory bite and enjoy the fair’s energy with their peers. Student-led booths also began such as Cinema 678: FESTANÇA Movie Booth, the thrilling Jail booth, our annual Alumni booth, and the senior high school students’ XO Sintonia: SHSQC Dedication Booth. Furthermore, the school community was thrilled as long lines started forming in front of the Fun game booths and the fair’s ride attractions including the Vikings, Teacups, Inflatables, and a Rock-climbing area.
The astounding performances took a step further as guest bands from different schools were also called to light up the stage such as DICE, Kashburn, Korakia, and Marty and the Martyrs. Finally, turning up the audience’s energy even more was the long-awaited band of Hey June! performing their rendition of ‘Everybody Wants to Rule the World’ and some of their original songs as the grand finale of the whole event.

As evening rolled around, the audience was at the edge of their seats as the much-anticipated Vaudeville: A Bright Spotlight of Hope started at the San Lorenzo Ruiz Hall. The program was opened with a doxology by Jala Banguilan & Gilana Varias, followed by an exhilarating introduction by the Forte Impromptu Club. The show continued with jaw-dropping acts from
performers such as John Paul “Juan Pablo” Rufuerzo, Mr. & Mrs. Manlapaz, and finally, Chorale & Glee Club to wrap up the second act of the show. On top of this, Vaudeville also presented mini fashion shows consisting of three parts, all containing clothing pieces from different designers.
In addition, comedy dances were also performed by the lower BEd pupils along with a short act by SHSeatro. Dances did not stop there as it was also time for Dance Clubs 5-6, 7-10, and 11-12 to show off their melodious moves in the spotlight, along with a satisfying painting performance by the Visual Arts Club and a variety of acts from Aglaia, SHSQC Pep Squad, Taekwondo Club, andthe SHSQC Personnel. The final

entitled “The Radiant Revue: A Million Dreams Come True”, featuring all the performing arts clubs of Vaudeville and officially ending the first day of Festança.
For the second day of the celebration, the school campus was packed as the Field Demonstration for Preschool to Grade 7 began at the school gym, featuring the different festivals celebrated in the Philippines. This was followed by the second day of Meliora: Open Mic 2025 with even more exciting performances with a new line-up of musicians and the final show of the Galaw Pinoy club for this year’s fair.
The final event of the two-day fair, Band Fest 2025: Hope - Harmonies of Pursuit and Energy, truly encapsulated the community’s love for music as the event’s lineup featured The Butterfly Effect from JIVE, Dadeoke, Amplitude, and coming back to their alma mater were JIVE Alumnae from S.Y. 2023 - 2024. This year’s The Voice SHSQC Edition Winners along with the SHSQC Faculty and JIVE’s Dream Machine also captivated the audience for the night.
