A mirrorball is a fascinating reflection of the people in our society—one that consists of different pieces formed by a variety of life experiences. They are known for the striking source of light that shines within the room or beneath and amongst themselves.
The innocence of a child lingered as I jumped from one interest to another. My intriguing personality has always led me to believe that I can become whoever I want to be. Along with this, I hoped I'd finally grow up and pursue those desires.
Soon, what once seemed easy to envision turned into something that I dwelled upon. Indecisiveness consumed me as I lost the aspirations I once held close to my heart. I yearned for the simpler times, back when I was so sure of myself. And just when I thought there’d been no brighter days, an escapade lay ahead of me.
In the leisure of time and the labyrinth of paths, I pieced myself back together. I shined as I explored the depths of my abilities—the child in me would be proud. From the repeated infliction of paths, I persistently stood back up as I searched for the spark I knew I always had.
It wasn’t tranquil; there were countless times wherein I felt like giving up, but the echoes of encouragement enlightened me. I can be my own Mirrorball, someone who has been broken many times and still manages to shine. After all, the broken pieces are an indication of who I was, who I am, and who I will be.
As I delve deeper into the process of discovering my profound strength, I aim to be found on my tallest tiptoes. Falling in the dim darkness and reflecting gradient colors in the strike of light, I am my own Mirrorball.
